I run the '165 ECM in my car and this is something that most likely you will have to just deal with. I don't seem to have as much trouble with it cutting out with v5 as I did with v4 but it is the ECM, not the cable or TunerPro. I have swapped ECM's, left the 10k on, changed ALDL harnesses and anyt...

check that your laptop does not have any kind of motion sensing protection built in. For example I have an IBM thinkpad that I use for logging. It has a feature called "Active Protection". There must be some kind of motion sensor in it and whenever it senses that there is too much movemen...

Is it possible it could be a bad cable? I've got a Moates cable. I went ahead and cleaned the ECM and plug contacts with contact cleaner. And also sprayed the ALDL. And I cleaned all the engine grounds. I had it idling and it quit flowing data after around 10 minutes. I had also read of this problem...

Ok, thanks. I'll try it and see what it does. I have read leaving the 10k resistor on will scew some of the data. I've read it makes it idle higher.

what ECM and/or mask? i know the 1227165 is notorious for doing stuff like this. whether it's a GM code bug or a hardware issue, no one knows for sure. It's an 89 Corvette. I looked around and came up with the number you posted: 1227165. So, I'm assuming it has something to do with this particular ...

TunerproRT quits reading data during scans

What would cause the Tunerpro RT to quit reading data during a scan? Sometimes I can go on a 20 minute drive and scan. Other times it will quit reading data every 2 minutes. Which means I have to shut the car off and start over. The other day when I was trying to scan, it quit reading data 5 times. ...

the lack of values and playback speed is explained by the very small and slow 160 baud stream that the L03 ECM pushes out compared to the 8192 baud stream the L98's ECM uses. why it won't export.... that may be a bug, is this V4 or V5? the dash and monitors? someone just likely never set them up in...

TBI scan data doesn't export to Excel

I've got two different cars I do scans on. One is a Vette with L98 TPI, the other is a Firebird with LO3 TBI. I can export my TPI data to excel and read the data to graph. But when I export my TBI data to excel. There is no data. I'm assuming that's just the way it is? Or is there a way around that?...

I use TP RT on both on my Win7 machines, PC and laptop. I think he might of noticed it in an error log or something. He pulled something up that shown errors that the computer had. As there were a few times when the TP RT quit running data while I was driving around. I think it was sometimes when a...

It is Win7 compatible, and is in fact developed on Win7. Hmm, that is strange why the tech who took over my computer clicking around brought it up. Though, I did also have WinALDL that I think sometimes opened up an error message. Error port 3 or something. I know I couldn't get that program to work.

Tuner Pro and Windows 7 not compatible

I have Tunerpro RT downloaded on my laptop with Windows 7. I had called the laptop tech support on something. And they were looking through my computer and mentioned that the Tunerpro RT is not compatible with Windows 7 and should be removed.

Just curious what that means with regards to Windows 7?

I was able to get data. Though, it looks like the data for the Firebird is rather limited. You don't get any Dash or Monitors data. And the ALDL values are rather limited. You don't get things like knock counts, etc. That is one thing I was wanting to check on the Firebird. The Vette seems to have a...

considering you're using V4: press F4 click "select log file for playback/recording" choose a location and a name for this logfile, press open, press yes now connect to the ECM, get some kind of data flowing, then press the record button as seen in the F4 menu. when you're finished, press...

mark does all of the heavy lifting with making and fixing tunerpro, i try and help out with the ADS/ADX and XDF files as much as i can, can't hurt to have the userbase grow. I was able to read data from both the Firebird and Vette. Looks like on the Vette after you are reading data, you can turn th...

hmm.... that seems to depend on the browser.... both FF and IE did that to me. you should be able to right-click and save-as and give it the correct extension (.ADS) and it should work fine. otherwise, i can zip and email them if necessary. and think of it this way: tunerpro was originally intended...

looks like that's a $61 application. How do you download that? I remember seeing that, but when you click on the links. It just takes you to a page with lots of text. Not sure how to download that and install it in the Tunerpro RT. I hope that is right, since it says to download at your own risk. I...

well, if you have the program, the USB-serial driver and the cable hooked up, get into the windows device manager and see which port it comes up as. then go into tunerpro RT, go to tools -> preferences, then click over to the ALDL/emulation tab and select the port there. now, make sure you have the...

off-hand, i know the TPI car uses the 6E definition and you'll have to temporarily enable the 10K resistor to get the 8192 baud datastream going, assuming you have the right ADS selected and the correct port selected as well. from the sounds of it, you're using V4? if so, the regular TP isn't usefu...

89 TPI Corvette that has MAF

How to use TunerPro to scan

I'm wanting to scan to see what my car is doing, ie TPS volts, RPM's, IAC counts, etc. I've downloaded the Tunerpro, Tunerpro RT, and Winaldl. I've got a Moates cable and downloaded the driver. Hook everything up, open programs, start it up. And nothing. I guess I'll have to try and figure it out be...
