trouble with win98 and RT tuner pro
Hey Everyone I picked up an old windows 98 laptop from a friend. Problem is tuner pro RT doesn't run correctly on this windows 98 setup. The problems are in the menus and graphical interface. Basically, looking at the virtual dash just display symbols for the text. The tool bar at the top is blank, ...

Ahh damn. I started having doubts about that adapter when it had no voltage on its power pins. Oh well, yesterday my friend gave me his old laptop from 1998. Ive almost got it ready for datalogging. Optical drive was bad and it had no network card so i had to get the hard drive out and slave it to m...

anyone use a usb-serial converter?
I got a new laptop, er netbook actually and of course no serial ports. I have a usb to serial converter with the prolific chipset and can't get the datalogging to connect. The interface cable works fine with my other laptop that has a serial port. The converter is sitting on com port 1.
Any ideas?

Yeah Tuner Pro is pretty easy to figure out whats going on, especially if you are very computer literate like yourself and you have an decent understanding of engines. What is all in that systemax kit? If its a head/cam package, you've got more work than just adjusting the flow rating constant to do...

My answer may not help much but I thought i would at least try! 13.5 a/f ratio at WOT? Have you tried running the vehicle richer? Maybe you need larger fuel injectors, or your current fuel injectors need to be cleaned. You could also try raising your fuel pressure a little just to test that idea out...

You have 80#/hr injections with that big block throttle body. You have the big block chip on the computer correct? I wouldnt run that motor with the chip for the big block since thats a good part of your problem. If i were you id put your stock 350 computer back on and tone down the fuel pessure a f...

and XDF file is like a map to a chips BIN file... Like if you just pop your stock chip into your programmer to read it, it will create a bin file on your computer. But the bin file (binary) doesnt really have any meaning to it. Your computer needs to know what all of these 1s and 0s actually is tryi...

this thread is a bit old but i think both you guys have a 160 buad ECM. You should upgrade to a 8625 ecm, it has a 8192 baud output for data logging, so it should be much more responsive. If you look on thirdgen.org you will see a lot of guys upgrading to the 8625 ecms. It requires a bit of wiring w...

Still same problem. Could it be the ADS file im using? If it wasnt right wouldnt it cause checksum er...
